Weed Blankets: A Buyer's Guide to Cannabis Throw Blankets
We have four of these blankets. Four. They live on the couch and get used every night, so when someone asks me what to look for in a weed blanket, I have opinions. Here is what to check before you buy one, using the cannabis throw blanket as the example, because it is the one I know best.
Size: 60 x 80 is a real throw
A lot of "throw" blankets are 50 x 60, which covers your lap and one knee. Ours is 60 x 80 inches, which covers a grown adult from shoulders to feet or lays across the foot of a queen bed. If a listing does not give the size in inches, it is the small one.

Fabric: soft is the whole point
It is 100% polyester with a silk touch face, and soft is the first thing everyone says when they pick one up. The painting is printed on one side and the back is white. It is a light layer, perfect for a couch or a car, and it will not replace a comforter in January. In Florida it is the comforter.
Print quality: look at the source
Most weed blankets are a cartoon leaf on a green background. Mine are a portrait of a named strain. I paint the mature female flower of each one, so the trichomes and the color shifts are in the painting before it ever gets near fabric. When you compare blankets, zoom in on the product photos. If the edges are blurry on the screen, they will be blurry on your couch.
Care: it survives the wash
Ours have been washed more times than I can count and they still look new. Cold wash, low heat, done. It is machine washable, hypoallergenic and flame retardant. If a blanket you are looking at says hand wash only, ask why before you buy it.
Picking a strain
There are 26 designs on the menu, and the honest way to choose is by color. Purple Haze and PURPS run purple. Black Afghan sits on a black background, Super Lemon Haze on bright yellow, and Sour Diesel on navy. STRainbow is six strains in rainbow order and is the pick when you cannot decide, which is how we ended up with four. If you are buying for someone else, match what they wear or what is already on their walls. Each strain has its own page if you want to read first, like Sour Diesel or Blue Dream.
Made to order
The blanket is printed when you order it, which adds a few days but means nothing gets made that nobody wants. Production takes 3 to 7 days, then US delivery is another 3 to 7 business days.
