Cannabis Hoodies: A Buyer's Guide to Strain Art Hoodies

Hoodie weather in Florida lasts about a week, and I am ready for it every year. I own these hoodies, I wear them the minute it dips below 70, and I have made most of the mistakes a hoodie buyer can make. So here is the short version: how they fit, how they feel, which strain to pick, and what to check before you buy.

What you are getting

Every hoodie in the store is the same blank with a different painting on the back. The face is 100% cotton, so the print sits on smooth cotton and the colors stay sharp. The fabric is 65% ring-spun cotton and 35% polyester, which is why it feels soft and does not bag out at the elbows. Front pouch pocket, matching flat drawstrings, three panel hood. The painting goes on the back, full size, and the front stays plain. I like that. You can wear it to the grocery store and nobody knows what it is until you walk away.

Sizing, the part people get wrong

They run true to size, and for a hoodie that means a close fit. If you want it baggy, go one size up. Sizes run S to 3XL and the size chart is on every page. Chest width goes from 20 inches on a small to 28 inches on a 3XL, and length from 27 to 32 inches. Lay a hoodie you already like flat, measure it, and match it to the chart. That takes one minute and saves a return. The Khalifa Kush hoodie page says it plainly: it runs small, order one size larger than usual. I would say the same about all of them if you like room to move.

Picking a strain

This is the fun part. Fifteen hoodies are in the collection right now, and the painting on the back is the same one that hangs on our walls. Sour Diesel is the loud one, and she comes in carbon grey or white. Grey is what I reach for, because the painting pops off it and it hides everything. Purple Haze comes in black, carbon grey or white, and the purple flower on black is the one people ask me about. Khalifa Kush has four colors, and sky blue is the one nobody expects to like until they see it.

If you cannot pick one strain, the 12 Strain hoodie puts twelve of my paintings on the back of one black hoodie. It is the one to buy for somebody when you do not know their favorite. And the Dream Factory hoodie comes in black, white or purple. A lavender painting on a purple hoodie looks like somebody planned it.

Dark or light

One thing to think about before you pick a color. Most of my paintings sit on a dark background, so on a black or carbon grey hoodie the flower looks like it is floating on the fabric. On white, you see the edge of the print as a rectangle, which some people like because it reads as a poster on your back. Look at the back view on the product page in the color you want, not the color in the first photo, before you decide.

How mine have held up

Mine does not get worn as much as I would like, because Florida, so it still looks new. The pocket is deep enough for a phone and a dog leash. Wash it inside out on cold and hang it or tumble it low, and the print will thank you. If a hoodie is too warm for where you live, the t-shirts carry the same paintings.

Before you buy

Check the size chart against a hoodie you own. Look at the back view in your color. Then remember that every hoodie is made when you order it. Production takes 3 to 7 days and US delivery is another 3 to 7 business days, so give it about two weeks. If you need it by a date, email us at cannaqueensproject@gmail.com and we will tell you straight whether it will make it.
